There's something so beautiful about sitting at the bar at Balthazar in SoHo. I'm not sure I can put it into words but I think that this photo captures the essence. Movement, lights, symmetry. Every time I look at this photo, I feel like I'm there. It's the beauty of the bistro bar.

Best of all, patrons can choose a bottle and serve themselves with the assistance of a knowledgeable sales associate.
