the evolution of luxury goods
I'm enamored with NOWNESS. At least once I week, I find myself tweeting about the content curated by the LVMH brand. It's become, in a very short period, an innovative space where ideas are first and foremost.
This post from Paris Couture by Daria Shapovalova includes fantastic interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of Christian Dior, John Galliano and Chanel shows.
While frugality may be at the forefront of fashion these days, this footage shows that the industry is very keen to the changes impacting couture. I love this particular quote, or perhaps explanation, of the evolution:
"We need very incredible things even if we can not afford them... we go to a museum, we see Picasso... we can not buy one but we are very happy it exists."
